“It’s a goat”, says Mr
Bush. “You’re mistaken Mr Bush!” Responds the rest of the
world. “How could this damn thing be a goat when we all can
see that it’s flying?” They add in anticipation of some
convincing answer. “A goat cannot fly Mr Bush!” They
continue after waiting to no avail for an explanation from
Mr Bush, as he keeps insisting that flying thing is a goat
and keeps trying to convince the whole world that a goat can
fly indeed!
How can Mr Bush be so
paranoid and so delusional? Isn’t he the president of the
United States? Don’t they call him “Mr President”? Hasn’t
he been elected by the people of the United States? How can
the American people choose to the first job a person who is
as delusional and paranoid as Mr Bush? Are delusion and
paranoia pre-requisite characteristics of those candidates
for the first and most important job in the USA? Or, do
candidate become delusional and paranoid after they are
elected to this job?
Resorting to the
history of the United States and the history of its
successive presidents to find some answers to our questions,
we have failed to compare Mr Bush to any of those presidents
except his father perhaps. We concluded that Mr Bush is a
stand alone president of the USA. Only time will tell if
the Americans, and the rest of the world for that matter,
will be “endowed” (ravaged is a better verb) with a like of
Mr Bush ever again.
When there were no
weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and the whole world
could see that there were no weapons of mass destruction in
Iraq, sadistic Mr Bush insisted otherwise and as a result
initiated an aggression which destroyed Iraq, claimed about
one million Iraqi victims so far, killed about 5000 US
soldiers and many thousands wounded and put the United
States in unenviable situation.
Yet Mr Bush insists
that he brought democracy to Iraq and the dying and
devastated Iraqis can practice democracy now, the democracy
of death to be precise.
Now Mr Bush is trying
to convince us that Hezbollah in Lebanon is a terrorist
organisation and that it is the enemy of the Lebanese
people. But we, the Lebanese people, have a totally
different notion of Hezbollah. We believe that Hezbollah is
a source of our pride and dignity, our assurance of
self-rule and self-independence and gives us the security
that he never had before.
Hezbollah is a national
icon for the majority of the Lebanese except those who
endeavour to trail shamelessly behind foreign powers in
search for their personal interests.
Mr Bush doesn’t want to
believe that the Lebanese will safe and sound as long as he
stays away from them. He claims that he is trying to bring
democracy to Lebanon. Mr Bush doesn’t know that we are
democratic enough! He is refusing to believe that the
Lebanese people don’t want his democracy! We have seen his
democracy in Iraq and we are very keen to keep it away from
us.
The Lebanese problem is
not goat Mr Bush and you can’t convince otherwise. We know
what our problem is and are mature and capable enough to
solve our problems. Of course, we can do that provided that
you stay away from us.
You have might and
power Mr Bush which we are even terrified to contemplate to
have at any time in future. You are even the mightiest and
most powerful individual on Earth. We, the Lebanese people,
are no comparison to you Mr Bush in terms of might and
power. We are weak and poor, but we have our pride, we have
our self-esteem, we have our dignity, we adore our freedom
and our independence and we have the will to defend and die
for them.
Because we love our
freedom and independence, we love Hezbollah beyond your
imagination and we are ready to defend it with all what we
have got.
We are weak and poor Mr
Bush, but we are very smart, smart enough to distinguish
between a goat and what is not a goat! |
